UPDATE 08/06/2020 FROM JEMMA HIRSCH- MANAGER

The last few months have been challenging for all.

As a care home we have been under higher pressures to ensure all our residents and staff remain safe and protected.

To date I can happily announce that we have had no confirmed or suspected cases of Covid-19 and feel that this has been achieved by the combined efforts of all the dedicated staff, the residents and their families. For this I would like to say a huge Thank you to all, for working in collaboration as a unit and team. We have received continual support from Cornwall Council, St. Agnes GP Practise and District nursing team, as well as CQC and the NHS, not to mention the excellent support and kind donations from charities and specific Covid-19 helpers who have provided us with visors and scrubs to name a few. Special thanks to Cornwall scrubs and Volunteers, Richard Lander School, Cornwall Covid-19 face shields and of course family and friends who have been working around the clock to help produce extra PPE for us and others.

At present we are still not allowing visitors into the Care Home to visit loved ones, relatives and friends. This is extremely difficult for all involved and I thank you for your understanding and support.

From 6th July the government announced that all staff in care homes looking after those over 65 years will get regular testing as well as residents every 28 days. We are in the process of organising this and hope to start within the next week.
